Rectifier transformers are usually used for feeding the induction furnace transformers as well as electrolyzing of such materials as aluminum, copper, chlorate, zinc, and so on. Since silicon controlled rectifiers inheritably disturb the current profile and jeopardize the safe operation of the whole system, it is inevitable to take different basic measures for designing rectifier transformers.
